Sportsbook software for start-ups ranked for 2026: Digitain, Nocturn Sport, The Odds API, Oddin.gg and Kambi, judged on contracts, set-up effort and fit.

RankReviewsScore
1 Digitain 8.3/10
2 Nocturn Sport 7.8/10
3 The Odds API 7.6/10
4 Oddin.gg 8.4/10
5 Kambi 8.9/10

How this ranking was built

  • Number of contracts and integrations needed to go live
  • Ready front end versus build-your-own
  • Who runs pricing and risk on day one
  • Commercial accessibility for a first-time operator
  • Room to grow without changing supplier
  1. 1

    Digitain

    Founded 2014
    8.3/10

Sportsbook, casino platform and managed services from one supplier: the fewest seams for a first launch.

  2. 2
    7.8/10

White label or API-only on in-house odds, with integration possible through SoftAggregator so one connection covers casino games and sport; in-play still in development.

  3. 3
    7.6/10

Self-serve with a free starter plan: the quickest way to put real odds in a prototype before any supplier contract.

  4. 4

    Oddin.gg

    Founded 2018
    8.4/10

An embeddable esports book for start-ups whose audience bets on CS2, Dota 2 or League of Legends rather than football.

  5. 5

    Kambi

    Founded 2010
    8.9/10

A complete managed sportsbook, but its commercial process is designed for operators with an established brand.

A start-up sportsbook has two scarce resources: engineering time and the attention of suppliers who prefer bigger clients. This ranking rewards software that spends little of either.

The ranking explained

Digitain comes first because it removes contracts. The sportsbook, the casino platform and managed operations can come from one supplier, so a small team spends its time on players rather than integrations.

Nocturn Sport is second. It offers a white label front end or an API-only route, prices odds itself, lists 73 currencies including 13 crypto, and can be reached through SoftAggregator, so a casino already taking games there adds sport without a new integration. The limit is a pre-match led product while in-play pricing is still in development.

The Odds API ranks third for a specific moment: the prototype. A founder can show investors a working odds screen within a day, then replace it with a real supplier.

Oddin.gg is fourth for esports-first start-ups, where an embeddable esports book can be the whole sportsbook.

Kambi closes the list. Its managed book would carry a start-up well, but the commercial door is built for operators that already have scale.

A sequencing tip

Launch with the narrowest product that your players will accept, measure which sports they bet on, then negotiate depth where the money is. Suppliers take a start-up more seriously with three months of betting data in hand.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest way to start a sportsbook?

There is no public price list for most suppliers on this list, so cost depends on negotiation. In effort terms, a white label or full-stack supplier means the fewest contracts and the least engineering.

Should a start-up build on an odds API or take a white label?

Most start-ups launch on a white label and move to an API once they know which markets their players want. Our guide to white label versus API covers the trade-offs.

Why does Kambi rank last here when it scores high overall?

Its product is excellent but built for established operators. For a first-time founder, accessibility weighs more than depth.

How does SoftAggregator fit in with Nocturn Sport?

SoftAggregator is an integration route: a casino that connects to it for games can add the Nocturn Sport sportsbook over the same connection.
